One such place in Phuket is Freedom Beach. In fact, I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that Freedom Beach is Phuket’s best kept secret. It’s a secret as it doesn’t seem to be on the average tourists radar. Freedom beach ticks all the boxes for that dreamy paradise feel. A Day Trip to Mostar
A little while back I took a day trip to Mostar. I had wanted to visit Mostar for quite sometime and being so close in Croatia, I thought it’s a now or never time to tick this off my bucket list. Mostar is a little picturesque town in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The old town centre gives you an idea of what Mostar would have been like centuries ago. At the heart of the old town is the main tourist attraction – a single arched stone bridge, called ‘Stari Most’. This historic bridge is the subject of many beautiful photographs, paintings and a platform for an age old diving tradition by…

A Trip Down Haji Lane in Singapore
A trip down Haji Lane in Singapore is well worth checking out and will no doubt add a splash of colour to your visit. Haji Lane is a little street tucked away near the Arab district, (easily missed if you don’t know about it) that pays homage to some fabulous street art. The walls of some of the buildings make for some fabulous photography opportunities or simply to just admire. There is a steady stream of tourists visiting the area during the day, but it’s not as overly crowded as other tourist spots. The narrow lane’s walls are filled with cool larger than life street art and inside these colourful…

Walking the Walls of Dubrovnik
Walking the walls of Dubrovnik is an experience you should not miss when paying a visit to the Old Town. Looking outwards, you get the sense of the of how impenetrable these walls are and how it’s location is of strategic significance. Every angle offers a different view of the town, the ocean and the islands beyond. If you are a die hard fan of Game of…

The Historic Neighbourhood of Anafiotika
I love discovering little unexpected places when I’m out and about exploring a city. So whilst I was in Athens, I learned of one such treasure that’s well hidden away. In fact if you walked by you may not even notice what lies at the foot of the Acropolis. So what is it exactly that I’m talking about? I’m talking about the historic neighbourhood of Anafiotika. A little area hidden within Plaka, that will give you a little taste of the Greek Islands. I first came to know about the Anafiotika neighbourhood through my lovely Greek friend Sissy, who lives in Athens. She suggested that when I take a walk…

The quirky Gala Estate Winery
Whilst driving through the countryside on the east coast of Tasmania, you could be forgiven for thinking you are driving through the English country side, with the familiar rolling green hills, rivers and the vineyards. In particular, the drive from Hobart to the Freycinet National Park is something I could term as quite the ‘joy ride’, as the scenery along the way is just picture perfect. Then as you start nearing the national park, the mountains appear as a stunning backdrop to the many wineries throughout this route. The east coast is home to a boutique wine region, producing cool climate wines. What I found interesting is that many of…
