Watching the Sunset in Santorini at La Maltese
You don’t have to head to one of the restaurants in Oia to watch a magnificent sunset in Santorini. You can also get a fabulous view from La Maltese Restaurant and Bar in Imerovigli. La Maltese is located on the highest point of the island, giving you a unique view of the Caldera and Oia, with the sun slowly going down on the horizon. I happened upon this place whilst I was actually looking for another venue to sit, have a wine and watch the sunset. I peered into the entrance, it was wonderfully opulent and I thought possibly this may be a bit on the expensive side. I…

Brettos Bar in Athens
In my wanderings around Athens, I came across a cool little bar called Brettos. Most people visiting Athens will end up in the Plaka area, for it’s where you will find many archeological sites, great street dining, shopping and of course Brettos. As I was exploring the streets, I came across Brettos bar in Athens by pure chance, I’m so glad I did. From the street my eyes were immediately drawn inside by the colourful wall of brightly lit bottles. The sign out the front said wine tasting all day, so I checked my watch (it was early) and figured ‘ah it must be 5 o’clock somewhere in the world’, so…

A lunch date at Vue De Monde
Vue de Monde has been on my bucket list of restaurants for quite sometime now and it was high tide that I checked out what all the fuss was about. Needless to say, I was just blown away with the whole experience. Vue de Monde is not only about the food, it’s the way it delights all your senses. With an open kitchen, it places you right into the heart of the activity, with a chorus’ of yes chef in the background and a chance to see what goes on in the art of plating up. A lunch date at Vue de monde was a day to savour and below is…

Sunset, Neos and the Burj Khalifa
Sunset, Neos and the Burj Khalifa – three elements necessary for an impressive night out in Dubai. If you find yourself in Downtown Dubai then this is one experience that you should not miss out on. Grab a friend or go by yourself (as I did), the ambiance is wonderful and the view is an absolute knockout. The best way to see the worlds tallest building is to be sitting in a building right across from it and preferably with a cocktail in hand. Get down or rather get up to Neos around sunset and watch the sun go down right beside the Burj Khalifa. It’s hands down the best…

Michelin Star Hunting in Istanbul
If you are Michelin Star hunting in Istanbul then you should look no further than the fine dining restaurant Nicole. In actual fact, there are no Michelin Star restaurants in Istanbul at all but the Nicole comes close. Located at the exclusive Tom Tom Suites, the Nicole restaurant enjoys some fabulous views from it’s rooftop terrace and is every bit worthy of being a Michelin Star contender with it’s modern artistic menu and overall dining experience. At Nicole you will find that the food is the shining star here. Nicole does not need to try to emulate others with theatrics in order to be a Michelin star contender – Nicole…

Dine Around The World With Locals
When you think of sharing a rustic hearty meal with a local family whilst on your travels, how do you imagine it to be? I see myself immediately conjuring up images of being unexpectedly invited to my neighbours villa (of course it’s a villa!) to share a meal overlooking some incredibly picturesque vineyard in Tuscany. The wine is flowing, the conversation effortless and the Italian food brought to the table by an Italian mamma who’s lovingly made everything from scratch. Okay, it’s fair to say that I’ve probably watched far too many Hollywood movies. These types of spontaneous experiences are not likely to happen too often for the average tourist…

The Turkish Flavours Food Tour – A Culinary Delight
They say variety is the spice of life and if you ever find yourself travelling through Istanbul, one will truly appreciate that very sentiment while exploring the amazing cuisine. In fact it’s a given, that if you visit Istanbul you can’t leave without doing a food tour. Food is the heart and soul of this country and to miss out on a food tour will have you missing out on a deeply cultural facet of Turkey. This brings me to Turkish Flavours, a food tour company that has captured the heart and soul of the food journey market through Turkey. Turkish Flavours I was invited to experience the real…

Experience interactive dining at inamo
If you are ever visiting London, then put this restaurant on your must do list. This place is unique, innovative and a lot of fun. Welcome to interactive dining at inamo, where you are in control of your whole dining experience. The menu is all about Asian fusion – with influences from Japan, China, Thailand and Korea amongst others. The inamo concept Interactive dining at inamo is controlled by you via your table…
