A Day Trip to Colourful Menton
The French Riviera is a beautiful stretch of coast that is situated in the south of France. There are plenty of beach towns stretching from Saint Tropez to the Italian border. It’s right on this border that you will find the colourful Menton. Whilst most people are visiting the larger tourist towns such as Nice, Cannes and Saint Tropez, they often miss these lesser known smaller towns. Menton is a peaceful little town that has a population of 29,000, a charming little old town centre and some beautiful beaches. Menton enjoys some beautiful weather all year round too, with mild winters and warm summer days. Menton is an easy 30…

Paris Studio Apartment with Eiffel Tower View
I’m currently staying in Paris and I have rented out an AirBnB with the most stunning view of the Eiffel Tower. Many of you have seen some of these views of this apartment from my insta-stories. It’s created a lot of interest with many of you messaging me for the details of where this accommodation is. So I have quickly put together this little blog post with all the details. The studio apartment that I am currently staying at, has to have one of the most stunning views of Paris and the Eiffel Tower from it’s balcony. When I googled accommodation in Paris with the Eiffel Tower view, I some…

Walking the cobblestone streets of Montmartre
Montmartre is my most favourite area of Paris and on my last visit in winter I stayed there for a wonderful ten days. I may be a romantic but to me Montmartre seems to capture the “old” Paris, the Paris where you could easily imagine sitting in a cafe and at the next table is Hemmingway scribbling on papers or a glance out the window and there is Monet, Dali and Picasso working away at their easels. If you are anything like me, then you will find much enjoyment just casually walking through the cobblestone streets of Montmartre, admiring the old buildings, wandering up stairs and capturing glimpses of the magnificent…

Ask any child, where in the world would they like to go most, and you will get a resounding response of Disneyland! So it’s fairly safe to say that Disneyland is on top of most kids wish list. Now combine Disneyland with a trip to Paris and it will soon be on every adults bucket list too! When I surprised my two teenagers with tickets to Disneyland in Paris, I can tell you there was much excitement in my house! We were off to spend Christmas in Europe and Disneyland was what my two kids wanted to see the most. Whether you are young or young at heart, no matter…

The town Colmar is straight out of a fairytale book
If there ever was a town that makes you feel like you have stepped out of a fairy tale, Colmar would be that town. Literally, Colmar is straight out of a fairytale book. Located in the heart of Colmar is the enchanting “old town” – with its beautifully preserved 9th Century architecture, colourful buildings and little romantic canals, it truly gives you a glimpse of how life may have looked over 1000 years ago. Colmar is not only known for it’s fairytale charm but also for it’s local gourmet produce and beautiful fine wine. I was absolutely enamored by this little part of town and it’s a must see if you…

Getting around Paris
Paris is quite surprisingly a spread out city, and tourist attractions can be some distance away from each other. Paris is made up of twenty areas called Arrondissements that work their way from the city centre in a spiral pattern beginning on the north bank of the river Siene. A little planning ahead can help you navigate the areas of Paris and how to get to those must see sights on your list. Getting around Paris is somewhat easy once you have decided on the mode of transport that best suits you. If you are somewhat fit and enjoy walking then Paris is a great city to explore on foot,…
