Rock Bar Bali: It’s all about sunsets and cocktails

    January 21, 2015 /

When I mentioned to a friend of mine that I was going to Bali, she immediately said to me “if you do one thing only in Bali, then that one thing has to be visiting the Rock Bar in Bali. She then went on to say that I must be there for the incredible sunset and advised me to get there early. I then thought to myself “mission accepted”. The Rock Bar Bali is an open air bar that can only be described as a world class venue that is both visually stunning by day and equally so at night. The Rock Bar is nothing short of an architectural feat…

    SkyPoint Seventy7 Cafe and Bar

    November 14, 2014 /

A must visit on the Gold Coast is the Skypoint Observation Deck located at the Q1 Tower right in the middle of the tourist area of Surfers Paradise. Not only is it an observation deck but it doubles as a venue, where the aptly named SkyPoint Seventy7 cafe and bar can be found on the 77th floor.  A great spot to enjoy some late afternoon cocktails before heading out for the evening. To get there make your way down Surfers Paradise Boulevard to the SkyPoint Observation entrance and once your entrance fee is paid you will be directed to the elevator. The elevator takes you up to the 77th floor…

    Sirocco and Sky Bar Bangkok

    October 30, 2014 /

So what is is like to dine at Sirocco Bangkok, in the worlds highest open air restaurant? Well I can sum it up in one word – incredible! I had seen this restaurant and the Sky Bar at the Dome in photos, along with snippits of it on the movie The Hangover Part II and it was something that has been on my bucket list for some time. So on my recent trip to Thailand, that also happened to coincide with my birthday, I thought what a great birthday present to myself – a night at Sirocco. So that’s what I did! Even though I was going in the low…

Madame Brussels: enjoy a garden party on the rooftop

    May 25, 2014 /

Hidden bars is what Melbourne is known for and this one is accessed from a dodgy looking elevator that gives no clue of what is beyond. But once the doors fling open you find yourself stepping into a marvellous and colourful venue beginning with the main parlour. The parlour is grassed so you could almost kick off your shoes and wander about barefoot – okay, it is fake grass, but it still cuts a good look, complete with garden furniture and the odd leather couch thrown in the mix. The bar sets its scene as though you have stepped back in time, having a garden party complete with gorgeous…
